Education

The Powerhouse Science Center is a public non-profit educational institution. The building features the Challenger Learning Center, Planetarium shows, a simulated archaeology dig site and self-guided tours of thematic exhibits.

The outreach programs are available for visits to the classroom. All Science & Space Center educational programs are based on California State Science Standards.

Book a planetarium show and self-guided tour the same day and make the best use of your transportation dollars. Other program combinations are possible, just talk to the scheduler about what might work for your class. Please refer to the Educational Brochure that describes the programs and fees involved.

For Teachers

Teachers are special at the Power House Science Center. Teachers who visit without their school group can enter the exhibit halls free of charge when they show identification. We also offer a number of professional development opportunities for educators throughout the year.
